POSITION: VISITOR CENTER ATTENDANT – PART TIME

JOB DUTIES:

Under general supervision, the Visitor Center Aide assists with the day-to-day staffing and maintenance of the Chilo Lock 34 Visitor Center and park, including the maintenance of park facilities; answers phones; greets visitors and guest; answers questions and directs visitors; performs cleaning duties including, but not limited to: cleaning restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, etc.; performs landscape maintenance such as watering and fertilizing flowerbeds, mowing, garbage collection, weed spraying or cutting; trimming trees and shrubs, and other miscellaneous landscaping duties; cleans picnic shelters, outdoor restrooms, and yurts.; provides group tours of the visitor center; meets with yurt rental groups and assists with check in and out of yurts; may assist Naturalist staff with programs; may feed animal ambassadors kept in captivity for display to the public; advises supervisor and other appropriate staff and personnel on suggested improvements, required maintenance, etc.; may assist in snow removal; attends meetings and serves on committees, as directed; attends training and seminars, as directed; meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERPP safety standards that pertain to essential functions; demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; may be required to work extra hours, evening hours, weekends and/or holidays as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License. Must remain insurable under the Park District’s vehicle insurance policy.

POSITION: CUSTODIAL WORKER – PART TIME

JOB DUTIES:

Performs various custodial/cleaning maintenance tasks within park areas to include rental facilities, park facility restrooms, park offices; sweeps, mops and cleans floors; cleans sinks, toilets, countertops; stocks toilet paper, hand towels, hand soaps; removes trash and replaces trash bags; dusts and cleans furniture, office equipment, walls, windows, vacuums floors; performs routine preventative maintenance to Park District facilities; power washing outdoor rental facilities; stripping, waxing, buffing finished floors with power equipment; painting walls and equipment; picks up litter in park facilities and areas; maintains park facility grounds in and around restrooms, rental facilities and offices; assists in snow removal with hand tools and salt spreading on parking areas and sidewalks, steps, entrance ways; greets visitors, guests and general public; answers general questions and directs visitors; provides rental facility information to guests and general public; attends training and seminars, as directed; meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERPP safety standards that pertain to essential functions; demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; may be required to work extra hours, evening hours, weekends and/or holidays as necessary; due to nature of job, the Custodial Worker must be available to return to work after normal work hours or on weekends and/or holidays when called to do so, to handle custodial and/or safety issues that arise; performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION: SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPER

JOB DUTIES:

Under immediate supervision, the Groundskeeper performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks to grounds, equipment and facilities within parks; performs park maintenance by cleaning Park District facilities such as latrines, toilets, group-use areas; performs janitorial duties such as sweeps and mops floors, empties wastebaskets, etc.; performs landscape maintenance such as laying sod and/or mulch, mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding and spraying, digging, raking, leaf collection and picking up trash; performs routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating and cleaning of job-related vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment; meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to essential functions; demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; may be required to work extra hours, evening hours, weekends and/or holidays as necessary.
