The Park District currently has two open positions.
1. Full-time naturalist
2. Full-time custodial worker

FULL-TIME NATURALIST
The Clermont County Park District seeks a full-time naturalist to imagine, implement and present public programs on the historical, natural and scientific features of its six parks, three nature preserves and hike-bike trail. Candidates will offer programming for schools, general public and special interest groups while working with staff members, volunteers and group leaders to schedule and conduct programs.

The naturalist also works with fellow staffers to develop and implement marketing methods to promote programs via social media, websites, information kiosks, newsletters, email and other methods. Naturalists assist in the management of natural areas and monitor biological events in preserve and park locations. The position requires some weekend, evening and holiday hours.

Minimum requirements:

The candidate should possess strong communication and presentation skills, along with basic computer and graphics knowledge. Employment contingent upon successful completion of a driver’s license check, drug screen and background check.

Starting pay is $12.40/hour. Benefits include OPERS, health insurance program, paid vacation, holidays and life insurance.

FULL-TIME CUSTODIAL WORKER
The Clermont County Park District seeks a full-time custodial worker to join its maintenance team. The successful applicant – under general supervision of the Operations Superintendent – will handle a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled custodial tasks for Park District rental facilities – lodge, cabin, picnic shelters and yurts – restroom facilities, park offices, visitors center and general park facilities.

Duties include sweeping, mopping and cleaning floors; cleaning sinks, toilets, countertops; stocking toilet paper, hand towels, hand soaps; trash removal; dusting and cleaning furniture, office equipment, walls and windows. Routine preventative maintenance includes power washing outdoor rental facilities; stripping, waxing and buffing finished floors; painting walls and equipment. Also responsible for picking up litter in park facilities, maintaining grounds in and around restrooms, rental facilities and offices. Performs other duties as assigned.

Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license to meet Park District insurance carrier guidelines. Must be certified in First Aid and CPR (or obtain certification within six months of employment). Employment contingent upon the completion of a driver’s license check, drug screen and background check.
