68 New Trees at Kathryn Stagge-Marr Park!

Big thanks to Duke Energy and students from Goshen Middle School  for helping Clermont County Parks put 68 new trees in the ground at Kathryn Stagge Marr Park! Duke supported the effort with a $5k community grant and representative Chad Shaffer came to present the "big check" and thank the students.

Thirty 6-8th grade students, along with their fearless teacher Ms. Ellen Shaw and parent volunteers, put the shovel to the dirt. They dug holes through rocky soils and worked hard to get those trees in the ground. Great job by our awesome naturalists, Kathy and Caedyn, for leading the students in a fun and educational tree-ID hike.

The entrance drive will become a "no mow" area, meaning that it will begin to transition back to a native forest and become a more park-like entrance for guests.

After the planting, the students enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch and fishing time around the lake. We hope that they'll come back to check on their trees and see this future forest grow!
